Christmas lo’s

The girls are feeling much better. They were very ill last week. Krista’s ear drum almost ruptured and Abbey ran 105 fever. Thank God they are better and Blake didn’t catch it. He does have some congestion that keept him waking up last night but noting too major. The weather change is not good though. Even in SO CA I am getting a sore throat. But I am still glad we are not in horrible VA.

Here are my Christmas lo’s. I decided to do the kids Christmas pics separate and then PS them into a card. I got better shots that way. I lifted the first lo from DianneH on 2peas. I was very happy the way they all came out.

Mike is traveling again so I will have plenty of time to scrap. I guess I can do some work for all of the DT calls going out. I know I would never have a chance and that is what everyone says but I may try a few.

Also here are some pics Mike took of Blake and I before he left. And one of my sweet little Abbey Rose. I hate that I look so fat. Honestly my legs are not that big, it was the angle of the camera. I swear, lol. I hate that. I do have to lose some weight though. I always gain it in my face for some weird reason and that reall drives me nuts. I told Mike now that we are in CA I was going to start some plastic surgery. Of course I am joking. I would never. 🙂

Messing around with different conversions. I will post a few.

Black Friday…

Well Sophia, you asked, “what does one eat when there is no turkey”?

The day started out okay, lounging around, Mike taking care of some business. About 1:00 p.m. I finally get the kids all ready to go and we headed on out to go eat. We had in mind to go to a certain resturant near downtown. So we drove the coast, which is the long way, for the view. It was beautiful as usual. It reminded us how grateful that God allowed us to move here and live in such a paradise on earth.

After taking a wrong exit and getting lost for about 45 min. we finally arrive at the resturant. Closed :O What to do. There is another resturant across the street so we pulled into the parking lot. We had eaten there before and after seeing a few things that totally grossed me out, that’s just the way I am, I cringed and told Mike that I just couldn’t eat there. So, we left, and the hunt started for another resturant.

We passed through 2 small cities with no luck. Even I-HOP was closed. Can you belive that, I couldn’t. It was getting later and we were getting more and more hungry and irritable. We had driven all day and at this point we almost back at our house. We passed an Albertsons grocery store and I was at the point where I wanted to stop and just buy some food to cook. But we decided to try one last place. There is a place called resturant row which houses about 15 different resturants. I prayed to God that there be at least one of those open.

As usual, God answered my prayers. The parking lot was empty but as we drove to the side of the lot we saw a fire pit that was lit and a big sign that said, Come in and have a Thanksgiving feast with us. Eewwweee, boy were we happy and yes, thankful.
We ended up having a beautiful and very filling Thanksgiving meal. Everything we could ask for and it was absolutly delisious. Thank you Jesus.

I said that this was the first time that I didn’t cook for Thanksgiving. Well, let me tell you, it is the last time I don’t cook for Thanksgiving. Never again will I do that.

Here are some pics that I snapped during our day.

This is a very beautiful church, I was told it is a LDS church, loos very beautiful at night with the lights shining on it. Stunning

These are beautiful flowers at the closed resturant. It was worth the drive just to see these.

This is the beautiful beach

No turkey this year. I am taking a break this year from the big feast I usually cook. It just doen’t feel like Thanksgiving in So. CA. But even though we are not having the big dinner, I will still reflect on all I have to be thankful for.

This year has been full of changes. We had our only baby boy, we moved cross country, sold our first business, embarked on new ventures, said goodbye to old friends and made new ones. All of the material things are wonderful all of the changes are great and I praise God for them.

The most important things that I am thankful for are that we all have good health. Blake was born a perfect and healthy baby boy. Abbey is developing phenominally. She is talking and learing and actaully is doing a great job in pre-k. Krista is a teen but she is a healthy teen, lol.
I managed to avoid a c-section when delivering Blake. Wow, what a blessing there. About 17 long hrs in labor. What an amazing doctor I had. If it weren’t for her I would have been cut. And I just know that Mike is going to try to quit smoking. I have confidence that my prayers will be answered in Jesus name.
Our family, our health, our happiness and also our prosperity. We have it all. We couldn’t ask for any thing more.

We are so very blessed and we thank God for His favor.

Have a very blessed Thanksgiving Day.

You know your a Texan if…

It drives me crazy when someone sends out junk emails everyday, like all day. My sister and I have some friends that do that. But sometimes we come across one that is definately a saver. She will usually forward it to me or me to her. Here is one, being the Texan I am, that I thought was cute and oh so true…

ARE YOU A “TEX-UN”?

1. You can properly pronounce Corsicana, Palestine, Decatur, Wichita Falls,
San Antonio, Burnet, Boerne, Mexia, Waco, Amarillo, and Waxahachie.
2. A tornado warning siren is your signal to go out in the yard and look for
a funnel.

3. You’ve ever had to switch from “heat” to “A/C” in the same day.

4. You know that the true value of a parking space is not determined by the
distance to the door, but by the availability of shade.

5. Stores don’t have bags, they have sacks.

6. You see people wear bib overalls at funerals.

7. You measure distance in minutes.

8. Little Smokies are something you serve only for special occasions.

9. You go to the lake because you think it is like going to the ocean.

10. You listen to the weather forecast before picking out an outfit.

11. You know cowpies are not made of beef.

12. Someone you know has used a football schedule to plan their wedding
date.

13. You have known someone who has had a belt buckle bigger than your fist.

14. You aren’t surprised to find movie rental, ammunition, and bait all in
the same store.

15. Your “place at the lake” has wheels under it.

16. A Mercedes Benz is not a status symbol; a Ford F350 4×4 is.

17. You know everything goes better with Ranch dressin’.

18. You learned how to shoot a gun before you learned how to multiply.

19. You actually understand this and you are “fixin’ to” send it to your
friends.

20. Finally, you are 100% Texan if you have ever heard this conversation:

“You wanna coke?”
“Yeah.”
“What kind?”
“Dr Pepper!”

Now if your not from Texas, you just might not get it…BaaaHaaaHaaa

Mojo…It’s Baacckk

I have totally been in a slump lately but that is all going to change I can tell. I have only been in my new work area for a weekend and have already created like 3 lo’s. I hope I keep this up. I finally had the chance to get the pics of the space in case anyone wants to see.

My mind has been going all day long about my post from yesterday. I spoke to a wonderful woman today (Kelley) and she has her beautiful book coming out this month. She was so helpful and nice. Answered so many questions. I can’t tell you how much I apprecitate people like her. So selfless, so willing to help. God will bless her for it. I know I can call her with any questions I have. I am trying to sort everything out and getting things down on paper. I actaully feel like I had a pretty productive day as far as that is concerned.

Also Sophia, if you are ready this, I would love to take the organization challenge but, everything is organized, lol. I dont know how but I have become semi-organized. My junk drawer is doing great with the help of the little plastic section thingys I dont know what they are called. Duh I guess they are called drawer organizers, lol. And for my games they are already in one place. So I will take you up on your next challenge. I am thinkful for my hard working, very smart and handsome husband. He is the best husband, father and provider. He is the nicest person you will ever meet. I can honestly say that I dont think he has come across anyone that doesnt like him. He can put a smile on anyones face. He is a real one of a kind. His spirit and his drive are very insirational. And his love and devotion is greatly apreciated.

Here are the pics and my favorite lo from this weekend. Abbey’s pic was used of corse. You would think she was an only child.

Moving my studio

Okay, I’ve made a decision. I am moving my studio downstairs. I have always hated the thougt of having my scrap space in a corner of the house somewhere but I really think I will get more done if I am in an area where I can monitor the kids better.

My kitchen is huge and has more cabinets and an awesome extra long counter that is right next to the breakfeast area. Well these cabinets and counter never get used. They are just sitting there, empty. So since the kitchen opens up to the family room, which also stores our huge new tv, I’ve decided it will be the best place in the house for me to store my stuff and work.

The table will have plenty of space to work as well and it is surrounded with windows so I will have plenty of natural light. The only thing I feel bad about is that my computer will have to stay in my office upstairs. But then again I figure it’s for the best because when I try to scrap in the same room with my computer I get distracted and always end up online on 2peas anyway or bloggin. So if I need to work on Mac for pics or whatever I guess I will go up to my office and work on Mac, lol btw Mac is my OSX computer. My sister nicknamed him that lol. Luv ya sis!

So as soon as I am done moving my stuff I will post pics. I am very excited because I think this is what I needed to push me to the level I want to be with my scrapping. I have been feeling very confined in my office since we moved. I miss my old office. But I definatly think this will get me on the right track. I will try to stay focused. I want to focus more on the designer, photographer and writer/storyteller in me. I don’t want my scrapping to turn commercial. I have to do what I love, not what is hot on the market. I think I am making it hard on myself becuase I don’t really have any one style. But my the passion I feel for my work is something I haven’t felt in a long time creativly. I feel that I am on to something big for some reason. I feel like God is telling me something. I will try to work hard toward whatever it is.

Halloween Pics

Ok, so Blake got the shaft this year on the costume. He will never remember it anyway right? Ok Roberta I know what you are thinking, but hey, we can always do pics later right?? So here are pics of Abbey, as usual. Spoiled? No, just very photogenic (sp)..

BTW…She was a Spanish Dancer. Had to reuse this costume I made her last year which is fine because we moved and no one will know she wore it last year. And besides, I didn’t get any pics of her in it last year…PLUS it still fit! So there, call me lazy but I think they are valid excuses…Lisa
