Just Some Pretties…

My sister gave me the cutest things for Christmas, she always knows what to get 🙂

Being the paper artist that I am 😉 I have always loved any kind of stationary!

The hot cocoa and the pretzels will be so very yummy!

I love my puppy Aunt Roberta!

What kind of plans do you have for New Years Eve? We have a UFC fight tonight, another BIG one and then, not too sure about New Years Eve.

We had a very merry Christmas in our home and I wish you did too 🙂
Here are some pics and please excuse my poor snapshots, I wasn’t paying very much attention to my photography at the time, too much excitement 🙂

Okay, I know it’s not the prettiest, but its our first gingerbread house and I think it came out great after 2 attempts to get the frosting to hold, lol.

Big sister enjoying the decorating 🙂

And the final house! Plus a letter to Santa 😉

The little white tree and one side of the rooms worth or presents

A happy morning for all!

I was so happy she loved the townhouse!

And of course he LOVED his new Thomas set, the BIG one!

I Promised…

A winner to my RAK and that would be Miss Joanna Wallace!

Please send me your shipping info and I will get it out to you after the holiday 🙂

Can you believe that the kids are SICK! We have one with fever and one with a runny nose and cough, uggg! I guess we went out too much last week and were around too many germs 😦

They seem to be doing better and I’m just trying my best to get them better by at least Christmas day.

Have you finished wrapping yet? I have a few more to go and then I’m done.

I know this is way off of the seasonal posts but I will leave you with pics from an email that my friend JUST emailed . It’s one of those “If you were a little girl in the 70’s” email and it brought back so many memories. Some memories are actually Christmas memories because I actually received some of these items as Christmas gifts when I was little. You may have seen it before but for those of you who haven’t, I thought it was cute…

You thought Olivia Newton John’s song ‘Physical’ was about aerobics. (?? its not??)

You wore friendship pins on your tennis shoes, or shoelaces with heart or r a i n b o w designs.

You wanted to be a Solid Gold dancer.

You drowned yourself in Love’s Baby Soft – which was the first ‘real’ perfume you ever owned.

You glopped your lips in Strawberry Roll-on lip-gloss till it almost dripped off.

You made Shrinky-Dinks and put iron-on kittens on your t-shirts!

You used to tape record songs off the radio by holding your portable tape player up to the speaker.

You had subscriptions to Dynamite and Tiger Beat.

You learned everything you needed to know about girl issues from Judy Blume books. (Are you there God, It’s me, Margaret.)

YOU had Star Wars action figures, too!

It was a big event in your household each year when the ‘Wizard of Oz’ would come on TV.
Your mom would break out the popcorn and sleeping bags!

You often asked your Magic-8 ball the question: ‘Who will I marry.
Shaun Cassidy, Leif Garrett, or David Cassidy?’

You completely wore out your Grease, Saturday Night Fever, and Fame soundtrack record album.

You tried to do lots of arts and crafts, like yarn and Popsicle-stick God’s eyes, decoupage, or those weird potholders made on a plastic loom.

PONG! (‘video tennis’ ) was the most remarkable futuristic game you’ve ever heard of!

Your hairstyle was described as having ‘wings’ or ‘feathers’ and you kept it ‘pretty’ with the comb you kept in your back pocket.
When you walked, the ‘wings’ flapped up and down, looked like you were gonna ‘take off’

You know who Strawberry Shortcake is, as well as her friends, Blueberry Muffin and Huckleberry Pie.

You carried a Muppets lunch box to school and it was metal, not plastic.
With the thermos inside some were glass inside and broke the first time you dropped them.

You and your girlfriends would fight over which of the Dukes of Hazzard was your boyfriend.

You had the Donnie and Marie dolls with those pink and purple satiny shredded outfits, or the sunshine family

You spent hours in your backyard on your metal swing set with the trapeze. The swing set tipped over at least once.

You had a pair of Doctor Scholl’s sandals (the ones with hard sole & the buckle). You also had a pair of salt-water sandals

You wanted to be Laura Ingalls Wilder really bad; you wore that Little House on the Prairie-inspired plaid, ruffle shirt with the high neck in at least one school picture; and you despised Nellie Oleson!

You owned ‘Klick-Klacks’ and smacked yourself in the face more than once !

Your Holly Hobbie sleeping bag was your most prized possession.

You wore a poncho, gauchos, and knickers.

You begged Santa for the electronic game, Simon.
And someone had to camp out at toys r us to get it for you!

You had nightmares after watching Fantasy Island .

You had either a ‘bowl cut’ or ‘pixie’, not to mention the ‘Dorothy Hamill’.
People sometimes thought you were a boy.

YEAH! You owned a ‘Slip-n-Slide’, on which you injured yourself on a sprinkler head more than once.

You had rubber boots for rainy days and Moon boots for snowy days.

You had that Fisher Price Doctor’s Kit with a stethoscope that actually worked.

You owned a bicycle with a banana seat and a plastic basket with flowers on it. You probably had a woven basket in front too.

You learned to skate with actual skates (not roller blades) that had metal wheels.

You thought Gopher from Love Boat was cute (admit it!)

Last Minute?

No really, I THOUGHT I was all done. So today I realize that I am not all DONE I still have some last minute shopping to do. My BFF ran all over the place today trying to beat the clock. I made it to the post office with about 1 minute to spare. The lady was at the door and we almost didn’t make it in. I can’t believe I did this AGAIN. I guess I really fooled myself into thinking that I was going to make it home for the holidays but alas, that was just a dream. So I mailed my mom a big box of goodies and one for dh’s parents and I hope it gets there in the next few days. I sent my mom a lo that I made for her. I will not post it yet because it has some potential for some unmentioned contest that are running here lately 😉 I also packed the box with tons of yummy goodies. She doesnt like to get stuff, she is a clutter bug and has enough stuff. So since she is sick and watched a ton of tv I sent her a DVD and Christmas sweets. I think she will enjoy it.
It really breaks my heart not being able to go home to be with her for the holidays but it was literally impossible. I cannot beat myself over it anymore as I have been sick with migraines this week because of the stress of it all.

So I still have a few things to pick up for the kids
and the big kid.
Can you believe my baby girl turned
19 the other day? I can’t.
I forced her to take a pic to
send to her grandma.
This is the result…as you can see,
she doesnt like taking pics.

And I guess I can post the kids Christmas pic for this years card. I couldnt make the oldest one take a pic with the little ones, as usual but I was really pleased that I got a good shot…

I am not sure about this blog move. I am not going to waste much more time on it. I revamped my blog here and now it looks better than the Typepad blog. I am having a hard time adjusting over there so I am not sure if I should move at all. Let me try one last thing!
Oh and here are some of my latest great finds…

A set of Bible Stories that are perfect for school. I was so excited to find these! I dont know if your familiar with them but they are like “Alice In Wonderland” and a little girl supposedly falls into the bible and sees the story come to life. Does that make sense? It is really easy to understand and the kids love them. So now we have the whole set 🙂

This is a brand new Pottery Barn floor puzzle, never opened, regular price still attatched $19. I found it for .99 cents. Talk about a steal!
And I thought this was so cute. It is a Ladybug Land thingy. We have so many ladybugs here, I thought it would be cool to grow one for science class. It is brand new in the box but I accidentally bent the packaging when I was putting it in the car but the globe didnt get damaged, it’s still good 🙂

They seem to like me, YEA!!
It was refreshing to be honored for my scrapbooking, especially since I was gone for such a long time. It was a very well need break and I think that it obviously did me some good 🙂

Any great plans for the weekend? None here. I am not a very big planner, I normally just go with the flow 🙂

So I am off to a great weekend. I hope you do the same!
